| RACE DAY
Hi every one, Sorry its been a long time since I've done this article.
I'm going to try to catch you up on what I've been doing, also I want to
keep this Race Day page alive by bringing updates on Drag Racing back to
the pages of The Motorcyclist's Post. It needs some more talk about Drag
Racing in it, don't you think? So if there is any story's about motorcycle
Drag Racing I need to know, because I'm only at some of the events out
there, so help me out. I don't just want to copy from other sanction's
web sites. So send me your own Drag Racing story's. Or your driver or race
team did something great or maybe not so great email me, any questions
that you have on drag racing I will try to get the answer, if I don't know
I will find the answer. So lets keep this page alive, email me - ccride@aol.com.
OK, well where do I start, I guess lets start with I'm back on an American
V-Twin (NHRA Pro Stock Buell) if you did not know. My TL1000 Suzuki is
up for Sale, if any body is interested contact me through my email. I can
only ride one. Or if someone wants to buy or lease the seat contact me.
I do love the Buell the best -- it is a beast. Still learning on what it
takes to get it down the track. Been running this season without any major
sponsorship or $$ backing so its been hard to keep up with NHRA. Somehow
I was able to get 8 of their events in and keep my Pro status for 2007.
But I was unable to keep the engine to its peak performance due to a low
budget.So I went to some AMDRAGS and AHDRA races closer to home and did
well. At the AMDRAGS If your not sure who that is -- its Harley-style drag
racing. Their first season out, they had 3 races, I went too two and boy
did I have fun- Hannum's H-D Summer Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway, Reading,
PA. It was great I qualified number one, And won the race, it was the best
weekend I ever had. So I had to return for their next race.The Mid-Atlantic
Nationals At Maryland international Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland. I
had another career best event at the Mid-Atlantic Nationals, qualifying
number one, establishing new performance records, taking the win and locking
up the first AMDRAGS Outlaw Pro Stock Championship. My first Championship.
Unfortunately the AMDRAGS director Buzz Kanter stated. They have decided
to suspend the AMDRAGS race program. At least until the financial climate
of the motorcycle industry improves. Sponsors' budgets are shrinking, the
cost of hauling race bikes to the tracks is climbing, and attendance is
declining." (Boy don't I know that it cost money to race and move
your bikes from Race track to Race track.) While there are no races scheduled
for 2007, Kanter has not ruled out resurrecting the AMDRAGS race program,
including the FLASH® (Fastest Legal All Street Harley's) Race, and
Thunder Alley Race School in the future. "The AMDRAGS concept is solid,
especially when promoted in American Iron Magazine, the world's best selling
Harley-oriented magazine. " Kanter stated. "While we have no
plans for AMDRAGS in 2007, we are keeping all options open. If you want

pictures). I wish Buzz Kanter and Matt Polito the best in what ever they
do in the future. Thanks for trying. I know for a fact a lot of racers
and crew enjoyed coming to the AMDRAGS we were all treated with highest
respect in all classes.
I also went two AHDRA races, S & S Jim McClure Nationals presented
by Drag Specialties at Virginia Motorsports Park. Went to the semi's and
lost fire to the bike in the burn out, and we could not get it to restart.
Found out later the battery solder connection broke - That's Drag Racing
- Mike Lozano went on to win. I had another career best event at the SCREAMIN'
EAGLE PERFORMANCE PARTS NATIONALS AT ROCKINGHAM DRAGWAY, I took the
top spot with a 7.15 at 182 MPH qualifying number one with the quickest
and fastest pass, and winning the race with my personal best of the season
7.12 on my new Buell. It was great, it marked my personal best performance
and my first AHDRA win. For more information on AHDRA go visit www.AHDRA.com
for all the final standings for the season, I did not run for season points
at the AHDRA.
